Are you interested in growing your own food?
If you are interested in growing your own food or maybe even being self sufficient this Slow Adventure event will give you the information you need.
Ardvarney Country Lodge and The Cottage Garden Dromahair,
Slow Adventure is creating connections with the outdoors, where can you do this better than in the beautiful surroundings of Leitrim. To start of your adventure you will stay in a luxurious en suite room in Ardvarney Country Lodge B&B, a small farm with sheep, hens and ducks and dogs. Because we care for your well being, we will prepare your breakfast with freshly laid eggs from our hens or ducks, fruit and tomatoes from the poly-tunnel and locally sourced products like rasher and sausage from our local butcher. Most of all we like fresh products for you like the strawberries from the poly tunnel on your pancake.
The Slow Adventure day,
Ardvarney Country Lodge/ The Cottage garden, will introduce you to the fresh products we like. You will have a walk to visit the local smallholding The Cottage Garden and talk to Lyn the gardener, about no dig gardening,
gardening for wildlife, permaculture, composting and anything else you would like to discuss. You will meet Teddy and Tony the alpaca’s, Podge, the pot bellied pig and the gang of bantam hens, geese, ducks and other hens. During the visit at The Cottage Garden, Lyn will introduce you to all kinds of veggies you probably haven’t seen or tasted before.
Most memorable will be the lunch. See what you would like to eat from The Cottage Garden and have a slow adventure lunch. Together, we will prepare the lunch with the products you picked yourself. Accompanied with a nice herbal tea, plain Irish tea, or coffee.
After the lunch we will walk back to Ardvarney Country Lodge.
This will be a great day if you are interested in growing your own food, eating fresh food and or vegetarian food.
