Once a traditional farmhouse, Ardvarney Country Lodge is now a peaceful retreat; a place to call home after a day of exploration and discovery. We have tastefully rebuild and renovated the 200-year-old building, thoughtfully modernising it in such a way that its authenticity has been immaculately preserved. What our guests say

Second visit I was lucky enough to stay in Ardvarney house for the second time a few weeks ago. Cairn and Wilfred take such good care of their guests. I felt like it was home from home. Food excellent and Cairn made us a take away lunch the next day. It was just as good as the first time and lovely to see the gardens in a different season. Peace and tranqui and great beds and pillows I would highly recommend it. Gracious hosts. Thank you Stayed: July 2018, travelled with friends

We booked this last minute and it is exactly what we needed. Cairn and Wilfred were there to meet us and they are such a lovely couple. We had a massage when we arrived and it will be fantastic when they have the new treatment room available. It is such a lovely quiet environment and there is a taxi service available if you fancy a glass of wine with dinner in local Dromahair so you can leave the car behind. The house itself is spotless and they have done an amazing job of making it feel warm adding personal touches that reflect their history in a very subtle way making it feel like you are at home and not a stranger. Breakfast selection was great but you have to have the dutch pancakes just fabulous. We are regular visitors to the Leitrim / Sligo area and we are very critical (constructive) of everywhere we stay but this place gets top marks and we will be back for sure. Absolutely fabulous guesthouse Karin and Wilbert so welcoming and warm. Bedroom and ensuite is absolutely GORGEOUS with amazing views of the beautiful Leitrim landscapes. The house is immaculate and fabulously decorated. Our breakfast was just delicious and wonderfully presented. There is such energy and soul in this divine house. Located in Dromahair, you are only 20-25 mins to Sligo by car. Cost is excellent value, €45 or €50,- per person per night. Highly recommend a stay here. Stayed: September 2018, travelled with family
